Occupied with the Occupation

I'd really like to be blogging here about something funny or happy or quirky, but I'm too occupied by reports of the "Occupy Wall Street" protests. The photo above demonstrates that part of the protest has moved onto the Brooklyn Bridge.

In the absence of reports from the major news media outlets since September 17th when these protests began, we've been relying on YouTube and FaceBook posts by individuals with cell phones and video cameras to learn what is happening in New York, Boston, Chicago, and other major cities. YouTube videos of what appears to be overly-zealous police reactions are proliferating.

Lawrence O'Donnell of MSNBC has broadcast the strongest condemnation (that I've seen) of police action, but he made it clear that he was under a restriction to not identify the details of the protest movement.  His video is available at

I've been posting occupation-related information on another of my blogs, SnarkAttack!  Click here: http://snarkattack-cheryl.blogspot.com to see that blog. It contains links to other related reports.
